A photograph showing the asphalt as it is being poured on to the mould, hot and heavy work. The asphalt is made of two elements- bitumen and aggregates. The composite is heated to such scorching high temperatures that if it touches the skin it immediately removesa layer. The craft and labour that goes into this trade is impressive, yet it is underappreciated and becoming rarer to find the skilled workmen.
